Deschedule.Earth is hosting an online hearing to give testimony and evidence in favor of descheduling cannabis. Descheduling would remove the plant from the Controlled Substances Act completely.
Saturday November 30th, an online event is taking place at deschedule.earth, the live hearing will feature cannabis news researcher, Danny Ford, combat vet, Jeff Krajnak, Directory of the US Cannabis Coalition, Patrick Moore, Hemp Innovator, Jason Laurve, and many more.
Cannabis deschedulization would have a huge positive impact in areas with cannabis already in place. An influx of consumers visiting from other states could enjoy the benefits of cannabis without the fear of bringing the plant back home across state lines.
Removing cannabis from the CSA would eliminate the financial burden low-income patients must overcome to qualify for doctor recommended medical cards. Without unnecessary red tape these patients could walk into a dispensary and out with medicine.
Descheduling could also bring additional occasional partakers who would enjoy replacing a beer or two at the end of a long workweek with a preroll without jumping through a bunch of the hoops to get a medical card. With over 7,000 active, licensed dispensaries in the country there would be a lot of options to buy.
Removing Cannabis from the CSA would also immediately help those licensed businesses currently legally growing, processing, and dispensing. Cannabis businesses would be able to use proper banks without being forced pay extra exorbitant fees tied to Schedule I status. A small poll in the Rolling Stone found the average price of $790, excluding additional fees also paid on cash transactions. The 280e tax burden that unfairly targets state licensed, legal cannabis operators would also disappear with a strike of the word cannabis from the document.
Don’t miss your chance to let your voice be heard before the DEA rescheduling hearing! If you have a cannabis business deschedule.earth would love to hear from you!
The DEA is looking to reschedule cannabis to Schedule III. Schedule III of the Controlled Substances Act are defined as drugs with a moderate to low potential for physical and psychological dependence. They include Suboxone, Ketamine, anabolic steroids, and testosterone.
The DEA is set to hold a hearing about rescheduling. The 25 chosen to testify including the CEO of the National Cannabis Industry Association, executive director for Veterans Initiative 22, members of Hemp for Victory, doctors, researchers, and lobbyists they will also hear from members of the National Sheriffs Association, Federal Narcotics Agents, and the Nebraska AG who is currently fighting to keep a medical cannabis initiative off the state ballot.
Schedule III Classification could potentially see more questions marks than solutions. With the wide profiles of cannabis it doesn’t fit neatly into a box like other drugs. What would this classification mean for people who like cannabis in its whole plant glory?
Now more than ever we need to band together and inform our lawmakers of the benefits of descheduling cannabis. Descheduling would have a positive economic impact and help countless lives in a positive way.
