Tommy Chong Talks Treating Cancer with Cannabis (Video)

Tommy Chong is one of the most well known comedians in the world, rising to stardom as part of the legendary Cheech and Chong partnership. Cannabis has always been an important part of his life, but Tommy probably never thought it would actually help save his life.

On June 11th, 2012, Tommy appeared on CNN to speak with Don Lemon about the lessening of cannabis possession penalties in New York. Instead, he announced that he had recently been diagnosed with prostate cancer in May, and was going to start treating it with cannabis oil.

Tommy received advice from a doctor in Victoria, British Columbia, who advised him that cannabis suppositories would be the best route of administration for treating prostate cancer.

The team at R.E.L.M made cannabis oil from plants that Tommy himself grew. The raw flower had a CBD level of 17%, which is quite amazing. While the suppositories were hard to adjust to at first, he got the hang of it pretty fast. Tommy also mixed the cannabis oil with coconut oil to further enhance bioavailability.

All Natural Treatment…

In May 2013, Tommy stated he had achieved cancer-free status with a combination of nutrition, supplements, cannabis oil, and spiritual healing. By using integrative natural healing techniques, he was able to avoid chemotherapy.

The contributions of Tommy Chong to cannabis culture are indisputable. As the future of healing develops, it may be that the field of medicine will owe Tommy something as well
